Hi, there!

More about me

As a therapist of color, I identify and address interpersonal and structural-based trauma, including the impact on our mind and body. My approach to healing work is holistic and grounded in care, humility, and anti-oppressive values.

My work started over 15 years ago with young people, adults, and families impacted by the carceral system. Through helping folks navigate and confront complex systems, I better understood the connection between trauma, racism, and structural oppression. I also learned, and experienced first-hand, how hard it can be for Black people and people of color to access culturally-responsive therapy. I started my private practice to offer a healing space that centers identity.

Iā€™m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of New York. I completed my two years of graduate studies in social work in Chicago, and my LCSW requirements (2000 hours of practice and passing two state board exams) in Brooklyn. I gained extensive experience working with people dealing with substance use and trauma, including sexual and racial violence, as well as grief and loss, and serious mental health disorders.

I received additional clinical training at the Critical Therapy Institute, a liberation-oriented psychodynamic group practice and clinical training institute with offices in Manhattan and Queens. I also provide clinical supervision to therapists-in-training and supportive services to staff in social justice organizations in the New York area.
